Electricity and Heat for Federal Research institute comes from Emstek

One of the world's most modern institutes for virus research, the  Friedrich-Löffler Institute, can be found on the Baltic island of Riems. The complex consists of two 230 m and 210 m long buildings each with one or two underground and three aboveground floors.
These contain laboratories with the world's highest security level L4, where work on the most dangerous pathogens such as Hendra, Nipah or Ebola can be carried out.

Building sections of the institute are supplied with electricity and heat by a block-type thermal power station from SEVA Energie AG. The block-type thermal power station with an electrical power of 540 kW is powered with rapeseed oil and, if need be, supplies emergency power for the institute's media center.
The company from Emstek has made an international name for itself in the planning and production of installations with block-type thermal power stations for special applications with the highest safety and quality requirements.
